Altoids Headphone Guitar Amp

Here is the Altoids Headphone guitar amp that I finally put together. I still need to attach a switch for the clean to distortion option, but it will do until I get around to that. I used the same easy schematics for this from the general guitar gadgets website.

New Bridge repair 12 string

Here are some pictures of the new bridge I made using flame maple. Maple is more dense wood than mahogany and less porous. I think I learned my lesson about the mass amounts of tension 12 string guitars put on the parts of acoustic guitars. Using the maple bridge also helped to improve the sound quality, making it a little bit brighter and clear sounding.

Bridge Break

This is what happens when you make a bridge a little too small and use wood that is not quite strong enough for all the tension demanded from a 12 string guitar.

12 string acoustic guitar repair

Here is an acoustic guitar that didn't have part of the bridge tailpiece. I custom made a new one out of some mahogany due to the time and availability it would take to get a new tailpiece. These are before and after pictures.

DIY Headphone amp with volume knob

Recently I have been working on small electronics. Through the help of generalguitargadgets.com, pedalparts.com and Radio Shack I have put together a small guitar amp. I used an old Gibson pickup box and a generic circuit board. I already had most of the parts so I probably spent around $5 or so. I'm sure someone could build one for about $15-20 if they used a nice pedal box and other parts from the sites I referenced. I also modded the schematics by adding a volume control. I got the easy schematics from generalguitargadgets.com. This amp has clean and distortion. I will post other DIY projects in the near future.

1st Electric Guitar

Here are pictures of my first guitar that I built in 2007. I used one solid piece of mahogany for the neck and mahogany for the body as well. Indian Rosewood was used for the neck with a double action truss rod.
